Campaign / Print Design
For the past four years we have been in charge of the layout, campaign images, invites, posters and brochures for numerous exhibitions. It has allowed us to work with beautiful images from exhibitions about Helmut Newton, William Eggleston, Ai Weiwei, Hiroshi Sugimoto and many more.
How do you develop communication materials that convey a message, while always allowing the image to play the leading role? Together with Foam we developed dozens of campaign images for their exhibitions – based on designs by Vandejong Creative agency – in which we always looked for the right balance between image and typography. We tried to use this balance to turn each poster, flyer and brochure into a collectors item for enthusiasts.
In addition to developing campaign materials for exhibitions we also worked on various educational projects programmed by Foam. For instance, we developed four magazines for the project Amsterdam Vertelt (Amsterdam Narrates) in collaboration with OBA (Amsterdam Public Library). The texts and images in these magazine are made by various generations of local Amsterdam residents, led by professional photographers and writers. We also designed the teaching materials for an educational programme at the Bijlmer Public School Community (OSB). Central to this educational programme is the relationship between young and old. Photography plays a key role in getting third-year students to get acquainted with elderly care first hand.
