In 2017 and 2018 various projects of We Are Leiden took place in Leiden under the motto ‘connecting people, creating stories’. We worked on the concept development for the programme direction, identity design and branding, and played a pivotal role in communication.
Following a successful first edition of the We Are Leiden Kick-off 2017, we were asked to help develop the future organisation and its activities. The platform We Are Leiden was initiated using the pay-off ‘Connecting people, creating stories’. Its branding is distinct and accessible in appearance, and can be used for a wide range of materials in a flexible way. There are different ways to connect the words We Are Leiden, similar to the different ways that people form connections.
To effectively stimulate and map the connections between people, we created communication materials that reflect this both in form and content. This includes fill-in-your-own business cards for exchanging contact details and special programme items for personal guided tours. We also created useful talking points for people meeting a new connection, and we made sure to document all the participants’ stories.
