CIV Welzijn & Zorg

One identity for 40 Welfare and Healthcare partners.

When forty regional educational, welfare and healthcare partners, as well as local councils work together on the welfare and healthcare solutions of the future, they deserve an appealing future-proof identity. A project we got to sink our teeth into.

Recognisable element

The first challenge was how to design a visual identity that appeals to each audience within the partnership – from students to partners. Then came the challenge of designing a logo that can be extended for CIVs (Centre for Innovative Craftsmanship, the name of the partnership) in other fields. The CIV Welfare & Healthcare, for instance, comprises 2 elements. CIV is the logo, in which the V for Vakmanschap (craftsmanship in Dutch) is distinctive; the plaster imagines healthcare, while the heart illustrates welfare. Combining the two creates a recognisable element within the ‘V’. The modern and conscious use of colour gives the identity a contemporary character.

Illustration and photography

We gave the three main themes of the CIV distinctive and friendly illustrations. Using as many characters (people) as possible emphasises the human side of the CIV. Photography also plays an important role as it demonstrates the skill and progression of real-life projects. The elements all come together in the various materials that we developed during this period. Partners have access to business cards, a zigzag flyer, brand fan, style guide, some videos, notebooks, pens and a website. By visiting the website, partners can stay informed about project developments and news. We developed the site in collaboration with our web partner Yourstyle.
